We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to The National Lottery Awards for All for their generous funding and support. We are pleased to share that we successfully completed this grant on 31 August 2025. This funding has been instrumental in strengthening our connections within the community, empowering individuals, and fostering a sense of belonging across South Yorkshire.
One of the most impactful elements of this project was our 45-week Monday Lunch programme, which became a cornerstone of community engagement. These weekly gatherings not only provided a warm meal and a welcoming space, but also served as a platform for vital information-sharing and support. Through these sessions, we were able to host a wide range of partners who delivered practical and life-enhancing workshops, including:
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue
South Yorkshire Police (Doorstep Safety)
Rotherham Hospice
NHS Cancer Awareness
Rotherham Council (Employment Solutions)
Rotherham Federation (Employability Support)
And many more local services and initiatives
These sessions helped participants access essential services, build confidence, and feel more connected to the wider community.
Another major highlight was our “Unity of Hongkonger Community” initiative, which supported over 1,000 new migrants from Hong Kong under the BN(O) visa scheme. Through this project, we provided culturally sensitive and practical support to help individuals and families settle into life in South Yorkshire. Activities included:
Blood pressure checks and health awareness
Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) information sessions
Pathway to Work programmes
Games and cultural exchange activities
Shared meals prepared and served by our dedicated volunteers
This initiative not only addressed immediate needs but also created lasting bonds among participants, volunteers, and partner organisations. It was a true celebration of unity, resilience, and mutual support.
In total, this grant has directly benefited over 3,000 individuals between July 2024 and August 2025. The ripple effect of these engagements continues to be felt across our community, with increased participation, improved wellbeing, and stronger networks of support.
We are deeply grateful to The National Lottery Awards for All for believing in our vision and enabling us to deliver such meaningful work. This grant has helped us build bridges across cultures, reduce isolation, and create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued.
Thank you once again for your support—it has made a lasting difference.
