Cohesion of Rotherham project "Community Action Lab" this event focused on "Pollution in Rotherham" with Don Catchment River Trust (DCRT) 21-11-2025

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Rotherham Council and Voluntary Action Rotherham for their support of the “Cohesion of Rotherham” project. Our latest event, the Community Action Lab, focused on the important topic of “Pollution in Rotherham” and was held in collaboration with the Don Catchment River Trust (DCRT) on Friday, 21 November 2025.

We are especially grateful to Charlotte Landry-Jennings, who delivered an insightful session on the work of DCRT and the ongoing challenges of pollution around the River Don. Following the session, participants visited the river site, where we observed significant amounts of rubbish polluting the surrounding areas. In response, our volunteers took immediate action by organizing a litter-picking activity. Together, we were able to clean the area and make a positive impact on the local environment.

This event highlighted the power of community collaboration in tackling environmental issues.
